BLACK and WHITE, the quintessential cool color of many people. It’s often seen as a safe choice ( like when looking into your wardrobe and not sure what to wear that day.) My experience with this house, however, is a tat difficult. All black and white can make the place flat out and look lifeless. We made a couple of tweaks to transform the space in a quaint little nook for this couple.
To bring life into this space we added a couple of plants and a gold/yellow accent color. We gathered paper bags, throws and artwork with yellow or gold in them to highlight different areas of the room. The patterned cushion and mug, metal grid furniture added texture and visual interest in the space.
I mixed my plant arrangement with a potted plants and bought some loose ferns to add texture, to create this little oasis corner. Check out my favorite mermaid
The artwork was created by @hellowanderer, we love her quirky sense of humor with the cactus. u can query on her work here.
An open wall of shelves is not only functional but adds a layer of visual interest from the living room.
We cannot go wrong with straight forward dining set with mixed chairs. Keeping the chairs the same color helps in unifying the black and white theme
I added a geometric pattern on the floor to create some contrast with the classic black marble wall tiles.
We love the kitchen. We used a matt black kitchen surface with a matt black laminate to juxtapose with the glossy fridge and glass backing to vary textures. Also, a little trick to also write on your kitchen backing with a white marker. good to leave notes and funny comments.
place a simple mirror behind your side to give a more polished look
